Nigerian actress Funke Akindele has subtly reacted to Toyin Abraham’s recent pledge never to greet her again, sparking fresh debate online.

The incident occurred during the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s movie. Toyin was seen greeting Funke as she tapped her shoulder and said, “Aunty Funke, good evening ma.”
To the surprise of many, Funke ignored the greeting and looked away, leaving Toyin embarrassed as she walked off.
The video quickly went viral, with netizens condemning Funke’s cold response and accusing her of negative energy.
Reacting under a blog post that shared the clip, Toyin disclosed she had unfollowed Funke on Instagram and vowed never to greet her again. In a now-deleted comment, she wrote
“I have unfollowed her, God forbid bad things. If I ever greet her again that means I’m a bastarrd.”
Funke Akindele, however, broke her silence when she boldly liked the blog post that carried Toyin’s words. The subtle gesture stirred fresh buzz online.

Legit.ng earlier reported that in December 2025, during the cinema run of their films Oversabi Aunty and Behind The Scenes, Toyin Abraham had accused Funke Akindele and her team of sabotaging her movie.
In a viral clip, Toyin alleged that Funke’s camp paid individuals to falsely claim that Oversabi Aunty was sold out, while continuing to promote Behind The Scenes.
She further claimed that cinemas deliberately scheduled her film at unfavourable early morning slots during the festive season, while Funke’s movie enjoyed prime screening times throughout the day.
