Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Umeh has spoken about her colleague, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, and her choice of roles in Nollywood movies.

Speaking on the Where Is The Lie podcast, Umeh claimed that Chioma does not accept kissing or romantic roles because of her strict Catholic upbringing.

According to her, Chioma grew up in a conservative household that shaped her values as an actress.

Umeh stated:

“She doesn’t accept kissing or romantic roles in movies. I’m saying this out of experience. She was brought up in a very Catholic home. She was a legionary. She has been a good girl."

However, some Nollywood lovers quickly pointed out scenes that contradicted her narrative.

Fans recalled that Chioma has, in fact, taken on romantic roles in her career, most recently in Seven Doors, where she shared a kiss with her co-star, Femi Adebayo.

Legit.ng recalled that Chioma and Femi Adebayo won the Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress, respectively, at the AMVCA for their roles in Seven Doors.

Reacting to the win, Chioma, who was not at the event, shared a video of her shedding tears.

She wrote in the video caption.

Chioma's mum meets Davido

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chioma Akpota uploaded a beautiful video of her mother and music singer Davido. She took to Instagram to share a video of the two, revealing that meeting the artist was on her mother’s wish list, and God fulfilled it.

She stated that at Davido's Houston event, her mother received her desire, and she did not simply meet him; he extended his arms to hug her.
