WAEC announced result portal reopening
WAEC had initially announced on Wednesday, August 6, that the portal had been temporarily shut down due to a technical glitch.
However, on Friday, August 8, WAEC released a statement on X.com informing candidates that they could now check their results once again.
While the examination body cited technical issues and the investigation into the recently released results as the reason for temporarily shutting down the portal, the issue has now been resolved.
Following the reactivation of the portal, WAEC apologised for their action and begged Nigerians for the mistake they made regarding the results matter.
The result portal is up again, candidates can now access, check and recheck their results for the WASSCE (SC), 2025.
Once again, we sincerely apologise for the mishap and appreciate your understanding and support. Thank you.
Candidates react to reopening as new results are uploaded
After WAEC announced that it reopened the result portal, candidates proceeded to log in to check what had changed in their results.
While some candidates stated that their results still show their former grade score, some said their results score changed after WAEC did the review.
@GujunguK
It was only General Mathematics that changed from C6 to B3, while English, nothing has changed
@Legitbo21387541
E8 changed to C5, C5 changed to B3, Alhadulillah🙏

Regarding the recent release and review of WAEC results. On the day we wrote this exam, many of our lives were put at risk due to the time they brought the exam papers.
It is disheartening to see that some results were reviewed and adjusted, while others were left unchanged.
@odunuga_ez93316
It's better for WAEC to close the portal again and take time to check all the subjects because it's only English that you guys fixed, you’ve forgotten you failed students in most of their compulsory subjects.
@OladokunAb37053
With due respect, sir /ma, you haven’t released our English language result, still outstanding.
We’re sick of it…pls, we need to process our admission, pls, I beg you in the name of God, release our English language. Before it gets too late, pls we beg you
@AbelDurojaye
Are we expected to buy a new E-PIN to recheck?
Because I haven't reached the maximum usage of my pin, and I've been receiving the pop-up that I've reached the maximum usage after my attempts to recheck the result.
@DanielOlan42407
Do you care about the money we are spending on purchasing vouchers, due you guys now I've bought two cards 3,400 twice?
@MidnightTrades6
I got an F9 in math, and even after the review that was done, it still remained the same. How come the review did not reflect in my result?

Nigerians react to WAEC's portal shutdown
The West African Examinations Council faced fresh criticism after it temporarily shut down its result checker portal, citing "technical issues" as the reason.
The announcement fueled outrage from concerned Nigerians and candidates in the just-concluded May/June 2025 examination, as the majority of the candidates failed English or Mathematics, following a Monday, August 4 statement by WAEC stating that 38.32 per cent of the 1,969,313 candidates obtained credits and above in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
Parents, groups slam WAEC over candidates' mass failure
Parents and groups across the country have voiced intense reactions following the widespread failure of candidates in this year's West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations, demanding the cancellation of specific exam papers, particularly the English Language paper.
The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) slammed the decision to hold exams at night, stating that it was unacceptable and negatively impacted student performance.
