Omisore Promises Peaceful Co-Existence Between Christians & Muslims If He Wins

Osun State PDP Candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has promised the people of the state that if they vote for him in the forthcoming governorship election on August 9, he will ensure the peaceful co-existence between Christians and Muslims without any discrimination.

Omisore, who made this declaration while speaking at the interactive session with Osun State Christian Association of Nigeria at its secretariat in Owode, Ede, also promised to restore the dignity of education, emphasising on its top priority in his eight-point agenda of his Rescue Mission.

He blamed Governor Aregbesola-led government of causing problems in the education sector. Omisore said when he assumes the office he will cause a paradigm shift in order to correct the anomaly, assuring CAN leaders that schools that were taken over by government in the past, would be returned to their original owner(s).

It was reported on July 2 that Omisore said he was confident he will defeat Governor Rauf Aregbesola thereby forcing him back to Lagos.

Omisore said: “On August 10 after declaration of results, we would all be jubilating across the state, while all our enemies will be crying in their closet.”

He maintained that it was wrong and totally unacceptable for pupils to be wearing the same uniform to school, adding that such policy had bastardised education and made it difficult to identify unruly behaviour among pupils.

Speaking on Opon Imo, Senator Omisore said the contradictions inherent in the tablet had caused serious setback to educational system of Osun State.

It is a tablet full of errors. It is unthinkable to study mathematics or other science subjects without drawings but no single diagram in Opon Imo, this is unacceptable,” he said.

Omisore's uncle, Ipoola Omisore, however has declared he cannot win the governorship election unless Omisore returns to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday that the police averted a political clash in Osun state after suspected political thugs destroying, defacing Governor Aregbesola’s political bill boards, poster and replacing it with PDP candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore during the PDP campaign rally in Ibokun area of the state.

It would be recalled it was reported last year that Christians in Osun State, especially members of the Osun Baptists Conference, on Monday protested against the attempted merger of Muslim students wearing hijab with the Baptists High School, Iwo, under the new education policy introduced by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
