The presidency is reportedly angry with the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, over his claim that the Nigerian military has sighted the missing Chibok school girls held hostage by Boko Haram insurgents.

It was gathered from a top presidency source on Wednesday, May 28 that President Jonathan was not pleased with Badeh's claim which he considers as an unnecessary outburst and breach of military tactics which could further hinder moves being made to free the girls from their captors.

Not giving much details the source said, "Indeed the President is really upset over the claim and we do not know what will happen."

The source who pleaded anonymity said the president wondered why Badeh would make such a statement at a time like this when he was supposed to be very cautious over the issue.

Alex Badeh had during a solidarity rally organised by the Citizens Initiative for Security Awareness, led by its National Coordinator, Mr. Chidi Omeze, outside the Defence Headquarters, Abuja on Monday, disclosed that the location of the abducted Chibok had been found but they were not going in with force, though they were working to get the girls out.

The U.S who is lending a helping hand to Nigeria in the search and rescue mission of the girls however said they cannot confirm the claims of the military.they cannot confirm the claims of the military

Badeh has also been critised over his claim by the Chairman Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, saying that it was unnecessary in counterproductive to the current move to free the children and reunite them with their parents.
