Governor Wike Sacks Rivers Revenue Chairman

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has sacked Onene Oshila-Obele Oshoko, the chairman of the Rivers State Internal Revenue Board.

According to Daily Post, there was no reason given for the sacking of the revenue boss.

Governor Wike announced the dismissal via a statement signed by the secretary to the state government, Kenneth Kobani, which stressed that the termination is to take immediate effect.

Wike in the statement also approved the appointment of the former PDP governorship candidate in the state, Nimi Walson-Jack, as the executive director of the Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Osila-Obele Oshoko has been directed to handover all responsibilities to the permanent secretary in the state Ministry of Finance.

Governor Wike recently approved the appointment of twelve special advisers and another set of caretaker chairmen for the various local government councils.
