Gani Adams, Gbenga Daniel Congratulate New Ooni

The national coordinator, Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Otunba Gani Adams has congratulated the new Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi for ascending the throne of the cradle of Yoruba land peacefully and legally .

Ogunwusi, a real estate magnate was appointed the 51th Ooni of Ife following the death of the former Ooni, Oba Okunade Sijuwade at a London clinic on August 10.

Otunba Adams described the appointment of the new Ooni of Ife as the divine anointment of another enigmatic Oba whose reign will enhance the glory of Yoruba race.

Otunba Adams in a press release made available to the media congratulated the brand new Ooni  “ for ascending the throne of  Oduduwa at the time apportioned by the ancestral founders of Yoruba race when his aura will not only rub off  on the ancient city of Ife , the Yoruba race in particular and the Yoruba people in Diaspora but will shine to all corners of the world where Yoruba culture flourishes and blossom.”

Adams pointed out that: “It gladden the hearts and please  the owners of the four walls of the Earth  that the Ife kingmakers have  done it the way it was supposed to be done and that is why things will be how it ought to be throughout the reign of Ooni  Enitan Ogunwusi.”

He said that the appointment of Ooni Enitan Ogunwusi and the popular acceptance it received by the people of Ife and Yoruba race showcased the import of applying traditional processes when it is proper, apt and necessary.

Otunba Adams called on the new Oonirisa not only to build and sustain the traditional structures and networking which his forefathers have built and opened but to embarked on cultural irredentism of the Yoruba values and pristine heritage which is under heavy threat of foreign influences

He commended the people of Ife for “the popular acceptance of the appointment of the Ooni and  putting a shame on those outsiders or intruders who have been expecting a worse situation when the announcement was made.”

Similarly, the immediate past governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has also congratulated Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on his appointment as the new Ooni of Ife.

In a statement made by his media officer, Mr. Ayo Giwa, Otunba Daniel urged the new monarch to see his appointment as divine and a clarion call to serve his people.

He charged the new Oba to be magnanimous in his choice by reaching out to all indigenes of Ile Ife both at home and in Diaspora to forge the much needed unity, development and peace as he shoulders the the customary responsibilities as the custodian of culture and tradition of the Yoruba people.

Otunba Daniel, who is the Fesojoye of Ile Ife, then on behalf of his wife Yeye Olufunke Daniel, the Yeye Fesojoye of Ile Ife, Otunba Daniel extended his cordial congratulations to the family of Prince Ogunwusi and the Giesi ruling house praying for a successful reign with divine wisdom in good health as well as for the concord, well-being and prosperity of the people of Ile Ife and Yoruba race in general.

The Senate president Bukola Saraki, on Monday 26, congratulated the newly selected Ooni of Ife-designate, Prince Adeyeye Ogunwusi and advised him to concentrate on further solidifying the role of the Yoruba people in national unity.

Also, the Osun state APC said it expect the new king to take off from where the late Sijuwade ended his glorious reign as it is looking forward to the eventful reign of the new Ooni.
