Tambuwal visits Obasanjo, faults Sanusi’s suspension

It was earlier reported that Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal was in a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Speaking with reporters after the meeting which lasted for about an hour, Tambuwal said they were consulting on "matters of national interest.2

Asked about his relationship with the opposition party, APC, Tambuwal replied that he and Obasanjo were still members of the PDP.

I am just visiting our national leader of the PDP. Myself and Baba are in PDP,” he said.

Speaking about Sanusi's suspension from his position as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, the Speaker expressed concern saying though he is not an economist, he feels the development was capable of sending wrong signals to foreign investors.

He said, “Whether it (suspension) is lawful, legal or illegal, the personality involved has told everybody that he is going to court and I believe he is already in court on that suspension."
