Anambra Election: Gov. Obi responsible for inconclusive poll

Anambra Election: Gov. Obi responsible for inconclusive poll

A business mogul and Chief of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Chief Arthur Eze yesterday blamed Anambra State governor, Mr Peter Obi for the inconclusive gubernatorial election in the State.

Eze, who is seen as the main financier of the PDP candidate, Tony Nwoye, accused Obi of rigging the governorship election so he could pave way for his preferred candidate, Williams Obiano to continue the “looting process”.

Eze who spoke with State House correspondents on the controversy trailing the Anambra State governorship election, expressed worry that what happened in the state could repeat itself in different places if not nipped in the bud.

When asked whether he was in support of the call for the total cancellation of the election, the PDP chief said, “Jega is very emotional, he is a very straightforward human being. He said this election was an act of sabotage. He was frank and God will advise him on what to do.”

“Obi committed a crime and rigged election against the poor people and brought his man, Obiano. For eight years, there were no longer local government elections in Anambra; now he brought Obiano, his treasurer to take over from him. Now, Obiano will spend eight years and bring somebody, then we are in trouble. It’s for the poor, not for me, the needy, the orphan, not me. I am an old  man, I am going. It’s because of the poor that I am crying”, he said.

Asked about the way forward, Eze said, “Go and pray. What is going to happen in Anambra will happen in so many places. Pray for yourselves, not for us, we are gone, we are aged”.

On what the development portends for the 2015 general elections, he said, “I don’t want criminals to take over in 2015, that is why I am crying”.
