Breaking: Buhari departs Nigeria again as presidency reveals destination

According to the presidency, President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, May 30 left the shores of Nigeria for a neighbouring West African nation, Ghana.

Bashir, Ahmad, a presidential media aide, on his verified Twitter page on Sunday reported that the Nigerian leader is to attend the Extraordinary Summit of ECOWAS in Accra.

Ahmad revealed that President Buhari will be back in the country after the one-day summit in Ghana.

His words:

President @MBuhari departs Abuja today, for Accra, the capital of Ghana to attend a one-day emergency Extraordinary Summit of ECOWAS, convened to discuss recent political developments in Mali

Buhari's previous trips in 2021

Earlier, President Buhari on Tuesday afternoon, March 30, departed Abuja for his routine medical check-up in London, United Kingdom.

The Nigerian leader took-off in one of the jets in the presidential fleet from the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

His spokesman, Femi Adesina via a short statement posted on his Facebook page on Monday, March 29, noted that Buhari is due back in the country during the second week of April 2021.

Before leaving Abuja on Tuesday, Buhari ordered the service chiefs and other security and intelligence coordinators of the nation to mark bandits, kidnappers as well as their sponsors and take them out.

Again, Buhari on Sunday, May 16, departed Nigeria for France ahead of the African finance summit which is expected to take place in the nation's capital, Paris.

According to Ahmad, the summit would have as its main focus a review of the continent's economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic and possible ways to reduce the debt burden of African countries.

Ahmad and his colleague, Lauretta Onochie, shared photos of their principal's last moments in Nigeria before he left for the European nation.
