It appears the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun gearing up ahead of the country's next general election.
The APC has approved the upcoming Conference of Progressive Youths scheduled to hold on June 14, at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
Legit.ng gathered that the approval was granted by the ruling party's national chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.
This was made known in a series of tweets via the official Twitter handle of the party on Friday, May 7.
The party describing the conference as the first of its kind noted that it would be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Conference is scheduled for June 14 at the International Conference Center (ICC) Abuja.
Barr. Ismaeel Ahmed, national APC youth leader, and SSA to the president is the overall planning committee chairman.
Other aides to the president who made the list of committee members include Tolu Ogunlesi and Bashir Ahmad.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that former chairman, Senate committee on appropriation, Iyiola Omisore, two former speakers of House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and Yakubu Dogara made the list of 61-man contact/strategy committee announced by the APC on Monday, March 22.
Their inclusion in the list was not unconnected with their defection to the APC, after dumping SDP, ADP, and PDP.
A statement issued by John James Akpanudoehede, the national secretary of the caretaker committee and seen by Legit.ng, said that the committee would be inaugurated on Tuesday, March 23, by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.
