Following their Champions League elimination from the hands of Chelsea football club, Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos has hit back as Mason Mount over the ‘sleeping’ comments.

Real Madrid were beaten home and away by the Blues who reach the Champions League final and will play against Manchester City in Istanbul on May 29.

Prior to their game vs Chelsea, Kroos had suggested that none of the Chelsea players can cause him to lose sleep with his over 15-year experience.

Mount's response after scoring the goal which ultimately put the tie beyond Los Blancos was equally as intriguing. The Chelsea forward told BT Sport via Marca:

"I saw one of their players say that none of our players stop him from sleeping, maybe he should lose a bit of sleep for our team, we could have scored more than five goals."

Kroos, took the time to send one final response over to the former Vitesse Arnhem midfielder, with what can be considered a sly dig at the end. He wrote on Twitter:

"I'm still sleeping well, but well done yesterday. Congratulations and good luck in your first Champions League final."

Meanwhile, John Terry has paid tribute to Mason Mount for the youngster's role in Chelsea's Champions League triumph over Real Madrid.

The Blues staged a masterclass against the La Liga giants during the second leg of their semi-final fixture at Stamford Bridge to seal qualification for the final of the competition.

The pair of Mason Mount and Timo Werner scored a goal each during the Wednesday, May 5, clash to send Thomas Tuchel's side to Istanbul on a 3-1 goal aggregate.

Manchester City have already booked their spot and are awaiting the winner between Chelsea and Real Madrid in the second leg.

Sources reveal that UEFA is planning to hand the finalists 8,000 tickets while the hosts are preparing for not less than 25,000 supporters at the stadium - that is one-third of the venue capacity.
