The Blues staged a masterclass against the La Liga giants during the second leg of their semi-final fixture at Stamford Bridge to seal qualification for the final of the competition.

The pair of Mason Mount and Timo Werner scored a goal each during the Wednesday, May 5, clash to send Thomas Tuchel's side to Istanbul on a 3-1 goal aggregate.

Terry took to Instagram later after the crunch encounter to congratulate Chelsea for their impressive performance.

However, it appeared as though it was Mount who had impressed him most as the Blues legend uploaded a touching photo of the midfielder when he was playing for the club's junior sides.

"Congratulations @Chelseafc. One more game to go," the legendary defender posted.

He went on to tag Mount with a caption of a ball in tribute to the midfielder's performance.

The west Londoners will be playing Premier League rivals Man City during the final of the tournament in Istanbul on Saturday, May 29.

City will be looking to conquer Europe for the very first time in their history.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Chelsea legend Didier Drogba could hardly contain his joy after his former side booked a place in this season's Champions League final in the female category.

The Blues saw off Real Madrid in a keenly contested semi-final fixture to seal qualification for the penultimate game of the continental showpiece.

The Stamford Bridge-based side secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the tie played in Spain, before staging a masterclass at home winning 2-0 in the return leg on Wednesday, May 5, to progress to the final.

Both Timo Werner and Mason Mount found the back of the net in either half of the meeting to help Chelsea sail through on a 3-1 goal aggregate.

The qualification sent millions of Blues faithful into a frenzy, with many taking to social media to celebrate the milestone.

Drogba, who enjoyed an illustrious career during his stay at the Bridge led the celebrations, with the Ivorian tweeting: "Let's goooooooooo. We are going to Istanbul my people."
