Lloris' deal with Spurs is due to expire in 2022 and the north London club are likely to cash in on him this summer rather than lose him on a free next season.

The Frenchman has already entered the twilight years of his football career increasing the need for Tottenham to sign a new long-term replacement.

Metro UK citing SunSport reports Henderson has been shortlisted for the role alongside Burnley shotstopper Nick Pope and West Bromwich Albion's Sam Johnstone.

It is understood Henderson would consider a move to Tottenham should United fail to make him the first choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford ahead of David de Gea.

The Englishman recently penned a new deal with the Red Devils, shortly after his return from Sheffield United where he spent on loan last season.

Pope and Johnstone would therefore be easier to land for Spurs, especially for the latter whose West Brom look set to be relegated at the end of the season.

And with Pope due to turn 29 in a few days, Metro UK reports he could be open to move to a bigger club where he stands a chance to end his career with a trophy.

However, Spurs must contend with competition from a number of clubs who have previously been linked with a transfer move for the England international.
