A young lady with the Twitter handle @Emerald_nerd has inspired social media users with her service to humanity.
@Emerald_nerd disclosed that she volunteered with Federal Road Safety Corps in controlling traffic at the Ekiti State University gate.
Sharing the photos on Twitter, she wrote:
"I volunteered with @FRSCNigeria in controlling traffic at Ekiti State University gate.
Heartwarming moment female officer controls traffic under heavy rain in Kwara state, her video stirs reactions
"Service to humanity."
Tweeps were impressed with her voluntary work and they soon flooded the comment section of her post with praises.
"Good of you. Road safety is everybody's business."
"Well done. This is the kind of thing we want to see."
"Weldone (sic) dear... Keep the ball rolling."
In the clip, the woman abandoned her shelter, stepped into the rain, and worked energetically to ease traffic on the road.
As the traffic warden worked with so much passion, she kept checking her wristwatch. The result of her work was evident as traffic on every part of the road kept moving seamlessly despite the heavy rain.
While many people praised her for her selflessness, others said a properly installed traffic light would have done the job, wondering why there is still a traffic warden on the road in this present age.
