Gunmen raid police base in northern state, kill inspector, friend

- Some criminals attacked a Nigerian police base in Bauchi state on Tuesday, March 2

Some gunmen were on a killing spree in police base on Saturday, March 13, shooting dead a police inspector and at least one individual.

The attackers opened fire at the Safer Highways base located in Nabordo, Toro local government area of the northern state.

Daily Trust reports that the sad incident has been confirmed by the police spokesman of Bauchi police command, Ahmed Wakili.

The police inspector killed has been identified as Mukhtar Ibrahim while the other was his friend, Uba Sama’ila, the son of the Ward Head of Nabordo.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that gunmen attacked a police station in Onueke, Ezza south local government area of Ebonyi state, leaving two police inspectors and one sergeant dead.

In the attack that took place Friday, January 8, the suspects reportedly carted away two AK 47 rifles from the station.

Two other officers were also said to have sustained bullet wounds during the unfortunate incident.

Similarly, some gunmen killed some policemen and at least one soldier on the night of Tuesday, March 2, along the Calabar-Ikom highway.

The sad incident was confirmed by the police spokesman in the area, ASP Irene Ugbo. Ugbo said that attackers fled into a nearby bush with about two police rifles during a gun battle with some soldiers who came on a rescue mission.
