2023: Bauchi governor will soon join APC, says Governor Zulum

Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Zulum on Thursday, March 4 hinted that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi will soon decamp from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Professor Zulum made the comment at the Bauchi state Government House during an event.

Legit.ng gathered that the governors and their colleagues from other north-east states were in Bauchi to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction and upgrading of the Bauchi state Government House.

Channels Television quoted the Borno governor as saying:

“The only quarrel that I am having with my colleague, the governor of Bauchi state is his refusal to come into the APC.
“But inshallah, very soon, he will join us. He’ll join the progressives. I am here to support him.”

The northeast governors have been in Bauchi state since Wednesday, March 3 for their 4th zonal meeting.

While Governors Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe and Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa were also present, the governors of Taraba and Yobe were represented by the deputies.

Meanwhile, Governor Mohammed on Tuesday, March 2 described the feud between him and his Benue counterpart, Governor Samuel Ortom over comments relating to the farmers/herders crisis as regrettable.

Governor Mohammed made the comment at Government House, Port Harcourt, Rivers state where host Governor Nyesom Wike and Governor Fintiri, reconciled the duo.

Following a warm embrace between Ortom and Mohammed, after the truce brokered by Wike and Finitri, the Bauchi governor said the tension between him and his Benue counterpart was fuelled by widespread insecurity in the country.
