Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez replicated his old tricks during their 1-0 loss to Premier League club Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday night, February 23.

Olivier Giroud's lone goal proved vital on as a clinical Chelsea side edged Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their last 16 tie played at National Arena in Bucharest, Romania.

The match was Thomas Tuchel's biggest European test since his arrival as Blues boss back in January when he replaced Frank Lampard who was recently sacked.

But a moment came in the game when frustrated Suarez had a confrontation with the Blues’ defender Rudiger just around the goal line.

Replay shows that the former Barcelona striker had cheekily pinched the Chelsea defender around his thigh.

“When you're telling your kids off, and they go from biting to pinching, you're doing alright," joked Joe Cole on BT Sport after the game via Daily Mail.

Suarez has hit a history of biting opponents during games. In 2010 he was suspended for seven games after biting PSV Eindhoven's Otman Bakkal on the shoulder.

After moving from Ajax to Liverpool, Suarez was then suspended for 10 games following a bite on Branislav Ivanovic's arm in 2013.

And a year later, he was seen biting Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup game against Italy.

Meanwhile, Suarez has shed more light on why he dumped Spanish giants Barcelona during the summer, saying he was highly disrespected at the club.

The Uruguayan international stated that he deserved more respect from the club as he comes up with further details of what transpired before he moved to Atletico Madrid.
