An All Progressives Congres (APC) stalwart in Kwara, Suleiman Makanjuola Ajadi has accused the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed of precipitating the current crisis in the state chapter of the party.

Ajadi, a former special adviser on National Assembly matters to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, made the comment during an interview with ThisDay newspaper published on Saturday, February 20.

According to him, the minister had tried to impose several people, including his biological son, as appointees in the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration.

His words:

“The first thing that happened was permutations on who will be what in the new government of Governor AbdulRazaq.
“Somebody wanted to make his son commissioner, somebody from Lagos wanted to be chief of staff and the issue started heating the political space of the state.
“These people wanted to bring their sons and kinsmen to be appointed from Lagos. The agitation now led to the current explosives in the APC in Kwara.”

Ajadi also faulted the proclamations by some chieftains of the party in Kwara describing Alhaji Mohammed as the leader of the APC in the state.

He decried the fact that the minister had been tacitly supporting the proclamations without calling such people to order.

Recall that the deputy national publicity secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena, recently described Alhaji Mohammed as a total failure in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nabena also said time has left the Kwara-born minister behind in the scheme of things in the ruling APC.

According to the APC chieftain, Alhaji Mohammed can no longer catch up with time unless he works with his state governor.

In a related development, the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbodiyan has declared that Alhaji Mohammed is now a wailer.

Ologbodiyan made the comment on his social media page while reacting to the minister's recent complaint about his loyalists being sidelined in the Kwara APC registration/revalidation exercise.
