US Capitol: Federal prosecutors make chilling discovery, reveal plan of Trump's supporters

- US federal prosecutors have offered an insight into the actual plan of pro-Trump supporters

- According to the legal counsel, the rioters intended to assassinate government elected officials when they breached the US Capitol

Following the invasion at the US Capitol, federal prosecutors stated that the intention of President Donald Trump’s supporters was to capture and assassinate government elected officials, Reuters has reported.

The international media outfit explained that the prosecutors made the disclosure in a court filing.

Legit.ng gathered that the prosecutors also asked a judge to detain the man who was photographed wearing horns in the chamber of the US Senate identified as Jacob Chansley.

According to the department, Chansley had left a note for Pence warning that “it’s only a matter of time, justice is coming.”

Legit.ng recalls that the US Capitol was locked down with lawmakers inside as pro-Trump protesters attempted to gain access to the building.

Some Americans protesting in support of President Trump entered the complex while lawmakers went on recess.

Pence was also at the complex presiding over the counting and certification of the Electoral College votes won by the candidate of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has spoken after his historic second impeachment by the United States' House of Representatives on Wednesday, January 13.

The US president ignored his impeachment in the speech as he focused only on the violence at the US Capitol.
