Karim Benzema who currently plays as a striker for reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid has expressed disappointment over being put on trial again over Mathieu Valbuena's video scandal.
The heartbreaking occurrence happened five years ago when France were preparing for the EURO 2016 championship before Karim Benzema was sent out of the squad.
Since then, the former Lyon striker has not been allowed to play for France national senior team as the French FA banned him.
Recently, the Real Madrid star was ordered to appear in front of a court over what he was accused to have done against his former teammate at the national team.
Karim Benzema was accused to have pressurized his former teammate to pay blackmailers who threatened to reveal an intimate video.
Benzema posted a screenshot of a story by French newspaper L'Equipe about the update in the case, which first emerged in 2015, on Instagram as he asked his followers when will the 'farce' will come to an end.
His lawyer Sylvian Cormier also expressed disappointment at how the case is being raised again after five years.
''We are unfortunately not surprised by this decision which is as absurd as it was expected.
''I am dismayed to note that one is forced to distort the elements gathered in the investigation to justify sending my client before the tribunal.''
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Spanish football manager Raul Gonzalez made his name as a player at Real Madrid was linked with a return to Los Blancos this time around as replacement for Zidane.
