- Mikel Arteta has stated that final decision about Mesut Ozil’s future would be made soon
- The German midfielder has been frozen out of the club as his last game was in March
- Ozil, 32, has reportedly agreed a deal to join Turkish outfit Fenerbahce
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has made fresh comments over the future of German outcast Mesut Ozil who has been left out of the Gunners’ squad.
The embattled Ozil has been left out of the Premier League as well as the club’s Europa league teams and Arsenal have continued to struggle in the English top-flight.
Fans have continued to call for the inclusion of the 32-year-old as more pressure continue to mount on the manager to make a decision on the player.
Arteta said, as cited in Mirror:
“If something is sorted this month it is because it is good for both parties – for Mesut and for the club.
“If that is the case we will move forward, if it is not the case then he will continue here. We will decide what is happening in the next few days."
Barely 24 hours earlier, Mesut Ozil reportedly edged to leaving Arsenal as negotiations with Turkish giants Fenerbahce reached an advanced stage.
Sources close to the player claim he has agreed to join the Istanbul-based club on a three-and-a-half-year deal despite having six months left on his contract with the North Londoners.
With the way things are looking, the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner might be bidding the Emirates Stadium outfit goodbye soon.
The North London club has been seeking ways to get the £350,000-a-week playmaker off their wage bill but the Turkish giants appear to have bailed them out.

They would have made the move earlier but no club was ready to inherit a player with such amount of weekly earning.
DC United have been linked as a potential option in the January transfer market, with a lucrative switch to the MLS touted but Turkey could suddenly become the player's new destination instead.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Mikel Arteta is reportedly planning to offer Norwich City two Arsenal youngsters in a swap deal for Emiliano Buendia during the January transfer window.
The North London club is currently enjoying a resurgent form in the Premier League having won their last three games.
And these outcomes have helped them move away from the relegation zone with 23 points from 17 league games so far this campaign.
