It is believed the Emirates dwellers were to fork out around £900,000 for the signature of the promising defender but the fee is now believed to have been negotiated down to about £542,000.

On Thursday, December 17, Rekik fuelled speculation an announcement on his arrival at the Emirates was imminent after he shared an Instagram post of him touching base in London.

Despite Arsenal not making a formal announcement on his signing, it appears the youngster is already taking part in training with his new side.

This was after he was spotted in the background taking part in a training session with Arsenal's development squad on Wednesday, January 6.

Metro UK reports the Mikel Arteta-tutored are closely monitoring the teenage sensation before deciding if they can loan him out this January.

His former side, Hertha Berlin, have already been touted as potential suitors who could land him as he continues his development.
