This latest development will come as a cheering news for all Barcelona fans who have been worried over the future of the Argentina international.

According to the latest report on GOAL, Jordi Farre explained that Lionel Messi wants to stay and will convince the forward to sign new deal.

''Lionel Messi wants to stay at Barcelona and that's what I know. His family also want to remain at Barcelona and we are going to work on it.
''I would go as far to say to say that if we win the elections, Messi will renew his deal and his renewal will be incurred automatically 25.''
