Chelsea vs Bayern Munich: Bavarians stars 'overpowered' Chelsea on 'whisky and beer'

- Chelsea vs Bayern Munich tie ended in a disappointing 3-goal thriller against the hosts

- Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski pulled the dangerous trigger that put Blues on the exit verge

- Bayern reportedly got an advantage boost at Stamford Bridge having had a 'whisky and beer' a day to the UCL clash

Bayern Munich ran a riot on their hosts Chelsea on Tuesday night, February 25, at Stamford Bridges, and it has now been revealed that prior to the encounter, the Bavarians were on 'whisky and beer' bash in their hotel.

The German giants came into the encounter as undisputed favourites but were given a tough welcome by Chelsea and forced to struggle for goals despite a beautiful start which reflected in the first-half ball possession.

But in the second half of the encounter, Lewandowski unleashed his brilliance, setting up Serge Gnabry's goal in the 51st minute before helping the former Arsenal star to double in the 54th minute.

Lewy later put the dagger on Chelsea's neck with a third goal, taking his tally in the competition to 11 goals, above Burrusia Dortmund goal machine Erling Haaland with a lone strike.

Chelsea were reduced to a ten-man team before the match ended, with Marcos Alonso booked in the 83rd minute after a second yellow card.

Fresh reports have now claimed that the Bayern Munich stars were on a long run of alcohol bash which might have handed them an advantage boost against their host.

According to rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, who was in the same hotel as the German giants on Monday night, the Germans were 'sipping whiskey and having a good old time' before the UCL round 16 tie.

"The Bayern guys were certainly sipping whiskey and having a good old time," Jon Bon Jovi said.

"And then they went and shellacked Chelsea. I'm going to get everybody in trouble."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Robert Lewandowski becomes the first player to break Cristiano Ronaldo monopoly after scoring his ninth away goal against Chelsea.

The Polish striker set up Serge Gnabry's two goals against Blues before tapping in the third one to reduce Stamford Bridge to crumbles.

Lewandowski, 31, then moved his UCL tally to eleven this season while also breaking Ronaldo monopoly in the elite league. He has scored 39 goals in 33 matches across all competitions for Bayern this season, meaning the 31-year-old is on another level.
