Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has, with immediate effect, dissolved all boards and parastatals constituted by the immediate past administration of Emeka Ihedioha.

Channels TV reports that the new Imo state governor directed the chairmen and members of the boards and parastatals to hand over to the most senior civil servants in their respective agencies.

Uzodinma's chief press secretary, Ogwuike Nwachukwu, has confirmed the development.

Meanwhile, Governor Uzodinma has said that his call for status reports from all ministries in the state was misconstrued as an intention to probe past administrations.

Uzodinma, speaking on Sunday, January 19 in Owerri, the state's capital, said he did not at any point say that he would probe anybody.

Legit.ng gathered that the governor said that he called for the reports because there has been no official handover since he assumed office.

He said that there was need for him to be abreast with what was on ground before he was declared the winner of the last election by the Supreme Court in Abuja.

However, the governor said that he will not hesitate to call for investigation in the course of reviewing reports from the ministries.

In a similar development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has kickstarted its scheduled protest in Abuja in the early hours of Monday, January 20.

The party's national chairman, Uche Secondus, Atiku Abubakar's running mate in the 2019 presidential election, Peter Obi, and other principal members are part of the ongoing massive protest.
