Students of the Lagos State University (LASU) held candlelight procession on Monday, December 29, in honour of their colleague, Favour Sewanu Daley-Oladele, who was allegedly killed for ritual.

Legit.ng reports that the procession was mobilised by some students via #JusticeForFavour just as they seek justice for the slain colleague.

The students, who were dressed in black attires, converged on the Department of Theatre Arts and Music, from where they moved around the campus, singing a dirge while some were in tears.

The mourning students urged the university management, the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the police to ensure the perpetrators are punished accordingly.

Reacting to the development, the director-general of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Segun Runsewe, condemned the rise in reported activities of youths getting involved in ritual killings for money, The Nation reports.

Runsewe pledged that the NCAC under his watch will engage in nationwide advocacy in 2020 to re-educate Nigerian youths to stop the quest to become rich or make money by all means.
