Another black woman has won a beauty pageant, joining the reign of black queens in major beauty pageants around the world. Miss Guadeloupe, Clémence Botino, was crowned in the 90th edition of Miss France pageant on Saturday, December 14.

Recall that Legit.ng earlier shared how history was made in 2019 following that the crowns of Miss America, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and more recently, Miss Universe are being worn by four beautiful black women.

Just as the world is celebrating the special reign, 22-year-old Botino, a master student in art history from Guadeloupe beat 29 other beauties to win the prestigious national competition and succeed last year’s winner from Tahiti, Vaimalama Chaves.

The newly-crowned Miss France is expected to represent her Western European country at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant.

Meanwhile, Miss Nigeria, Olutosin Araromi, who represented the country at the just concluded Miss Universe, received great honour in the US. In America, she was presented with the key to the City of Stonecrest by Mayor Lason Jury, an act that is only reserved for VIPs.

The beauty queen also met Aliyu Musa, the first female consul-general of the Nigerian embassy in Atlanta, Georgia.
