Nigerian Modupe Ozolua's birthdate officially recognised in Houston, USA's calendar

- Nigerian humanitarian, Princess Modupe Ozolua, has earned a spot as an important individual after her birth date was incorporated into Houston's official calendar

- For her works through Empower54, Ozolua's birthdate, October 10, was declared "Princess Modupé Ozolua's" day in Houston, Texas

- It was added to the calendar by Houston's mayor, Sylvester Turner

- Ozolua's Empower54 is a non-profit organisation providing health, education and women empowerment

If you want to change the world, impact lives. Nigerian-born humanitarian, Princess Modupe Ozolua has had her birthdate, October 10, declared in her name by Houston's mayor, Sylvester Turner.

In a letter sent to Ozolua by Turner, he thanked her for her contribution through her organisation, Empower54 to the development of the state. In addition, he proclaimed that her birthdate, October 10, will now be known as 'Princess Modupe Ozolua Empower 54 Day.'

Thrilled by the honour, Ozolua shared the letter on her social media page and thanked the mayor for recognising the work of her organisation. Empower 54 is a non-profit providing health, education, women empowerment & IDP/refugee programs to underprivileged people.

Not only was she honoured, Ozolua was also thrilled when she got a birthday shout out from a TV show hosted in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Facebook user, Hrm Saheed Olamilekan Ibrahim, has shared vibrant photos and clips of Nigerians marking Yoruba Culture Day in Ireland.

In the photos, many Nigerians can be seen wearing the native ankara prints, while singing and dancing. Though in a foreign land, many haven't forgotten home.
