Osinbajo’s aide reveals President Buhari’s biggest challenge

- An aide to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Ajuri Ngilale, says Muhammadu Buhari's major focus is ending insecurity

- Ngilale believes that this is the reason the president approved the shutting down of borders

- The aide expresses optimism that the issue of insecurity will be resolved

Ajuri Ngilale, an aide to the vice president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has revealed Muhammadu Buhari’s biggest challenge at the moment.

Ngilale said President Buhari’s biggest focus is resolving the security challenge facing the country and that this why the federal government recently shut down the borders.

In reaction to a query from a Nigerian concerning the security situation of the country, Ngilale said Buhari is on top of the issue.

In a tweet, Ngilale had been told: “You are a correct guy, but sometimes your man no dey try, insecurity everywhere, he needs to do more to stop these menace, it’s getting out of hand.”

In his response, Ngilale said: “President Buhari has been very open about how concerned he is about insecurity. It is the topmost issue on his mind and he is galvanizing ECOWAS to battle it collectively across borders.

“He is working tirelessly. We need to support him.”

Legit.ng earlier reported how Hameed Ali, the comptroller-general of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Thursday, September 26, explained the reasons the government shut down the borders.

There had been complaints of hardship by Nigerians as a result of the action, but Ali, a retired Army colonel said the closure was primarily done to strengthen the nation’s security and protect its economic interests.
