Newspaper review for August 22: Worries over oil sector as Buhari returns as minister

The Nation reports that Chris Ngige, Lai Mohammed, and Rotimi Amaechi all retained their portfolios as Babatunde Fashola was given Ministry of Works and Housing without the power sector he headed during his first appointment in President Muhammadu Buhari's first term.

The power sector was taken out of Fashola's portfolio and given to Sale Mamman as Goddy Jedi-Agba became the minister of state for power.

The ministries of transportation, labour and employment, education, and information all remained with their former heads.

The Guardian reports that the president on Wednesday, August 21, revealed that he would continue to head the Ministry of Petroleum Resources while Timipre Sylva will serve as the minister of state.

The Punch reports that the president faced strong criticism on Wednesday, August 21, for asking all his minister to direct all their meeting requests to him through Abba Kyari, the chief of staff.

It should be noted that Buhari on Tuesday, August 20, during a two-day retreat for the ministers made the change in how the requests should be served him as he asked the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, to attend to requests relating to the federal executive council.
