Naira Marley: Do not be voiceless when we are fighting politicians - Oyemykke charges

Over the past few days, social media has been abuzz with thousands of diverse opinions on the issue of the fight against internet fraud and those practicing it.

Public figures like in the entertainment industry like Simi, Tunde Ednut among others have used their individual platforms to heavily berate citizens of the country that are involved in cyber crimes.

Although, singer Naira Marley, caused a lot of controversies when he publicly endorsed internet fraud, rapper Ruggedman was quick to caution him and warn him against disrupting the black race by justifying online fraud.

In a recent development, popular Instagram sensation Oyemykke has come out to address entertainers that have taken it upon them self to speak up against ‘yahoo yahoo’.

According to him, while it is commendable that they are speaking up against fraud, his major concern is the haphazard approach of the celebrities.

He said there is no point in fighting one side of corruption and as such entertainers should address the issue from the very top.

Oyemykke expressed that celebrities should stop keeping mute whenever corrupt politicians are being tackled by concerned citizens of the country.

“There is no need to fight one side of corruption, Nigeria is bad & even 5-year-olds are becoming & dreaming about fraud. Let us curb it together but it is very important we start from the top.

"Do not be voiceless when we are fighting politicians! Keep the same energy as you have for these internet thieves with the ones that book your shows, with the ones that give endorsements.” he said.

Concluding his post, he noted that his opinion is fueled by the fact that corrupt government officials are being celebrated on a daily basis, when in reality, they are the bigger problems in the society.
