Chelsea star Danny Drinkwater has reportedly been charged for drink driving after his Range Rover smashed into a Skoda minutes after leaving party in Hale.

The 29-year-old was said to have been arrested after the incident as he was with lawyer Beth Mantel who he met at the party.

Danny Drinkwater alleged car crash occurred before Chelsea's Premier League game against West Ham United on Monday night, April 8.

According to the report on UK Sun, the incident left debris strewn across the country road in Hale, Gtr Manchester, and a fence was flattened.

It was also reported that the 29-year-old Englishman and lawyer Beth Mantel were treated for minor injuries after the accident.

Danny Drinkwater is now set to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 13.

This season in the Premier League, Danny Drinkwater has not played any game for Chelsea who are currently occupying third position on the standings.
