Ahead of 2019 general elections, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has claimed that convincing the electorate in the state to vote for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Hope Uzodinma is a difficult task.

Okorocha said this in a chat with newsmen on Tuesday, February 5, at the Government House, Owerri.

According to him, the APC candidate was rejected by the people when he tried campaigning for him.

“Believe me, I tried everything I could to campaign for him but it seemed that the people did not like him. But immediately I asked who they would vote for they all started shouting Ugwumba! Ugwunba,” Okorocha said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Uche Nwosu, the Imo state governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), stated that his governorship bid in the state has been “signed, sealed and delivered.”

Nwosu, who is also the son-in-law to the Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, made the comment on Monday, February 4, alongside his deputy governorship candidate, Acho Ihim, during their rally at Onuimo and Okigwe local government areas.

Legit.ng gathers that Nwosu urged the people of Imo not to forget President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement during his recent visit to the state, telling them to vote for candidates of their choice. Nwosu insisted that it is time for governance of the state to be taken over by young people.
