Huddersfield Town announce Jan Siewert as new manager after Wagner's departure

- Huddersfield Town have named Borussia Dortmund second team boss Jan Siewert as their new manager

- The 36-year-old replaces David Wagner as the boss for the Premier League side

- Huddersfield are currently 20th on the EPL table after 23 round of games

Relegation-threatened Premier League side Huddersfield have named Jan Siewert as their next head coach.

The Terries appointed the 36-year-old tactician as their new manager as replacement for David Wagner, who stepped down from his position earlier this year.

Before his appointment by the EPL side, Siewert was the coach of Borussia Dortmund's second team after joining them in July 2017.

His deal with the German side was expected to run until the summer of 2020 but he has been handed a more bigger opportunity by the John Smith Stadium outfit.

Huddersfield are currently at the base of the Premier League table with 11 points from 23 league matches - 10 adrift of safety - with 15 games remaining.

However, Siewert's first game in charge will be at home to Everton on 29 January after Mark Hudson took temporary charge for Sunday's defeat by Manchester City.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Premier League outfit Hudderfield Town have confirmed the departure of their manager David Wagner six months into the 2018-19 season.

The 47-year-old tactician was said to have left the club after mutually agreeing with the club to leave following due consultations with the board.
