Festus Keyamo advises religious leaders to unite rather than divide Nigeria

Festus Keyamo, renowned lawyer and director strategic communications and official spokesperson of President Buhari 2019 presidential campaign has expressed dismay that instead of sticking to their original role of bridge-builders in society, some leaders of religious and tribal groups have strayed far into politics.

Keyamo was speaking against the backdrop of some inflammatory statements being made across the country by some ethnic leaders who claim to be speaking on behalf of Nigerians.

The senior advocate of Nigeria is voicing the concern of Nigerians who have continue to condemn some of the divisive speeches as the country inches to election in 2019. He made his thoughts known in a tweet posted on his official handle.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the director strategic communications and official spokesperson of President Buhari 2019 presidential campaign, Keyamo reacted to former president Olusegun Obasanjo's statement that he will support anyone who will take Nigeria to the promised land.

In a tweet published on Friday, July 27, Keyamo said that Obasanjo did well to have implied by his statement that he did not take Nigeria to where it should be when he was in power.

Referring to the former president, Keyamo on his Twitter page wrote: "We thank God he has finally admitted he and the PDP failed to take us to the promised land by this statement, because he was former President himself...’2019: I'll support anyone that can lead Nigeria to Promise Land."
