Why Buhari is still the best choice for presidency in 2019 - Adeyemi

A Senator who represented Kogi west senatorial district has endorsed President Muhammadu for second tenure come 2019.

Senator Smart Adeyemi said President Buhari still remains the best choice for 2019 Nigeria's presidential election.

Vanguard reports that Adeyemi while addressing a crowd of supporters in Lokoja, Kogi state's capital city said President Buhari is the only one out of the people jostling to govern the country in 2019 that does not have an integrity issue.

He also said the president had not been questioned by anybody since he assumed leadership of the country in 2015.

Expressing satisfaction that most of the motions and bills he sponsored while at the Senate are now being given prominence by the President, Adeyemi said he sponsored the bill for the recognition of Chief MKO Abiola as the winner of the June 12 election.

According to Adeyemi, he also pushed for the construction of rail lines across the six geographical regions of the federation, and his frontline view in fighting corruption to a standstill, among others.

The Senator further urged the people of Kogi state to continue to support Buhari and the state governor, Yahaya Bello in their second term bids.

He said such support could help consolidate on their various achievements.

Stating that he was yet to decide whether to contest for the next national assembly election, Adeyemi said he was encouraged with the turn out of the people and the various encomiums he was receiving from the common man in the street.

He also said he had the zeal to work with President Buhari because of his integrity will be a major factor that will motivate him to return to the Senate.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the National Assembly had on Friday, June 15, pledged its loyalty and commitment to President Buhari.

The lawmakers in a prayer asked God to bless the president with additional tolerance for him to continue to tolerate its members as his children.

The Senate President Bukola Saraki represented by deputy senate leader, Sen. Bala ibn Na’allah, said the National Assembly would keep supporting the vision of the Buhari administration for a greater Nigeria.
