Soldiers, policemen reportedly exchange gunfire in Aba

- The incident was reported to have caused so much panic that owners abandoned their vehicles and fled for their lives

Military men believed to be attached to the Forward Operation Base in Aba in Abia state and mobile policemen have reportedly engaged themselves in heavy shootout.
Vanguard reports that the incident which occurred at the Osisioma Ngwa junction along the Enugu - Port Harcourt expressway, caused panic among motorists and shop owners who fled to safety.
The news outlet reports further that cause of the incident which cased so much panic that several vehicles were abandoned on the expressway as their owners feared stray bullets was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing the report.

It was also reported that several patrol teams of soldiers and policemen were sighted racing to the scene.
Meanwhile, the military authority in the state had also reportedly declined comments over the incident while Mr Anthony Ogbizi, Abia state commissioner of police reportedly said he was yet to be briefed about the incident.
”It will be too hasty for me to talk now. Let me get the full details of the incident,” the CP was quoted to have said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that a clash broke between officers of the Nigerian army and police officers in Ekiti state on Thursday after a policeman reportedly challenged a soldier for allegedly extorting money from motorist and causing traffic in the process.
