JUST IN: Air France delays Lagos bound passengers for 9hrs at Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris

- Passengers of an Air France flight to Lagos have been stranded in Paris

- The passengers have been stranded at the Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris since Friday, August 25

- The international airline left the passengers to sleep in the airport lounge with no accomodation or food

A large number of passengers flying Air France to Lagos are reportedly stranded at the Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris since 7.00 am on Friday, August 25

According to a Facebook post shared by Mercy Makinde, the passengers are expected to be at the airport till 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, when their flight is likely to depart.

Legit.ng gathered that the international airline was scheduled to take off 9:00am for their flight to Lagos, left the passengers which included women and children to sleep in the airport lounge.

Sadly when the passengers complained, the airline called the attention of the police.

She wrote: "Do Nigerians really deserve to get treated like this by foreign airlines???

It's not out of place for Airlines to have operational issues and if that happens you lodge your passengers in a comfortable accommodation with adequate compensation. But leaving them at the airport lounge and when they complain you call the police for them is totally out of place !

This is why we should have our own National Carrier! Then we would have an option not to fly these people. And when they know there is competition they will sit up! But where they enjoy a route monopoly... they know you will always come back....they are at liberty to treat you as they please."

In a previous report by Legit.ng no fewer than 400 passengers of a British Airways flight from Nigeria have been stranded in Lagos since Friday May 26 due to information technology (IT) problems the airline is experiencing.

Some passengers, however, were flown out of Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Saturday May 27 by KLM Airlines, while others were flown to Heathrow-London.

The British Airways passengers who were not flown out on either of the flights were provided with complimentary hotel bookings.
