A Brazilian model alleged that the footballer has been texting him and posted some of their exchanges on social media

The former Premier League star, who recently joined Cypriot club Pafos, denied the allegations through his agency

Former Premier League defender David Luiz has been embroiled in a cheating scandal after a Brazilian model alleged him and leaked their Instagram exchanges.

Luiz recently joined Cypriot club Pafos after a four-year stint in his native Brazil, following a 14-year stint in Europe, playing for top clubs including those in Portugal, France and England.

He played for Paris Saint-Germain in between his two spells at Chelsea and ended his career in the top European clubs after leaving Arsenal in 2021.

Luiz has a reputation for being a devout evangelical Christian and prays before matches. He once prayed for Fernando Torres during the Spaniard’s struggling time at Chelsea.

David Luiz caught in cheating scandal

Brazilian defender David Luiz is facing allegations of cheating in Brazil after leaked messages revealed he had been texting another woman on Instagram.

According to Portal Leodia, Karol Cavalacantes alleged that the footballer had been texting him, and she met him at Forzatelas during his short stint at the club.

Cavalacantes claimed that the footballer followed him on Instagram in July and they have been speaking since then, and at some point their conversation got serious.

She shared some screenshots from their conversation, alleging that the footballer requested to meet up with her and her friend for action, which Luiz said she would be serving the Lord if they did.

According to Goal, the footballer, through his agency, denied a meeting between the two, though they acknowledged that there was a brief communication between the two.

"As previously reported, although there was a brief exchange via text message, there was never any face-to-face meeting between David Luiz and the person making the contrary allegations,” the statement reads.
“According to an official statement from the Magna Praia Hotel, there is no record of the player staying at the hotel to date. David Luiz reaffirms his commitment to the truth and is confident that the facts will be duly clarified.”

It remains to be seen where this leads David Luiz’s engagement with his long-term partner, Bruna Luireiro, with whom she has two daughters.

Luiz and Luireiro have been in a relationship since meeting in Brazil in 2017. They went public with their relationship in January 2017 and have been engaged since 2019. She has yet to issue any official statement addressing the situation.
