Nigeria beat host Morocco 3-2 to win the 13th Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), their tenth title at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Saturday night, July 26.
The Atlas Lionesses took a two-goal lead in the first half through Ghizlaine Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy, while Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini scored to turn it around for Nigeria.

Tinubu rewards Super Falcons
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), rewarded each player of the victorious Super Falcons with the sum of ₦152 million ($10,0000) each on Monday, July 28.

President Tinubu announced that ₦76 million will be given to each of the technical crew/backroom staff of the national women's senior team.
He also conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the players and coaches for earning Nigeria's 10th WAFCON title, per Punch.
The former two-time Lagos State Governor rewarded each of the players with a three-bedroom apartment in Abuja, Nigeria's capital.

How much will Super Falcons receive from WAFCON prize money
10-time champions Nigeria received $1 million for winning the 13th Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
According to CAF, runner-up Morocco will get $500,000 while third position smiled home with $300,000.
The Nigeria Football Federation, led by Ibrahim Gusau, promised 30% of the prize money to the players to motivate them before their final match.
The players got a total of $3,500 as their daily camp allowances per player before the commencement of the 13th WAFCON, per Daily Post.

Football journalist raises alarm over prize money
Africa football journalist Osasu Obayiuwana alleged that a top official informed him of the Nigeria Football Federation's plan to shortchange the athletes.
In a post on X, Obayiuwana revealed that some members of the NFF are unhappy with President Bola Tinubu's failure to reward them.
The well-travelled football journalist noted that his source informed him of plans without part of the prize money. He said:
"This is what a top-ranked, well-known NFF official told me on Saturday: 'You better keep a very close eye on us, to make sure that the Super Falcons players get their 30% of the $1 million #WAFCON prize money that @CAF_Online is going to pay us.
'There are officials within the federation that are very bitter that they were not a part of the government largesse given to the team. I really hope that the money gets to the players when we receive it."
Ondo State Governor rewards Super Falcons star
Legit.ng earlier reported that Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has rewarded Super Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin with ₦30 million and a fully furnished apartment in Akure.
The gesture comes as recognition for her outstanding performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where the Nigerian team clinched yet another continental title.
