Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed that the 2016 European Championship title he won with Portugal remains the most important trophy so far in his football career.

The Portugal international is one of the best footballers in the world considering his achievements so far since he started his football career.

Gone are days when Cristiano Ronaldo used to play football on the streets in Portugal, today, the Juventus star is a proud winner of five Ballon d'Or awards which is incredible.

In fact, only Lionel Messi of Barcelona has more Ballon d'Or awards than Cristiano Ronaldo as the Argentine has six in his cupboards.

In total, Cristiano Ronaldo has won 32 trophies in his career across spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus where he currently plays.

According to the report on GOAL, Cristiano Ronaldo explained that it was the Euro 2016 title he won with Portugal that he cherishes the most.

"The start of the UEFA European Football Championship 2016 was going well for me but then I was sad because I got injured in the final vs France.
"By the end of the match I was crying with happiness! I experienced three types of feelings and emotions in that game, but at the end of the day it was unbelievable what I felt!
"It is probably the most important trophy that I’ve won in my life.”

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Cristiano Ronaldo has been conspicuously omitted from the 23-man Champions League squad of the season.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi whose Barcelona team crashed out at the same stage as the Old Lady made the shortlist dominated by players of the winning team, Chelsea FC.

The Argentine scored five times and assisted two goals in six games but his Calatan club was humbled out of the competition by Paris Saint Germain 5-2 on aggregate.
