Nigerian Players Ignored as Haaland, Ansu Fati Named in World Under-20 Team of the Year

- Erling Haaland has been named the front man as IFFHS releases list of best Under-20 players

- The Norwegian who stars for Borussia Dortmund has been amazing in the last 12 months

- Manchester City’s Phil Foden as well as Barcelona’s Ansu Fati also made the list

He world’s Under-20 team of the year has been announced by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics - and no Nigerian star could make the cut.

According to the IFFHS, the list contain the best players in the category over the last 12 months and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is the team striker.

The Norwegian has already scored 20 goals in the prestigious Champions League competition despite playing in just 14 matches.

He is now the quickest player to reach 20 goals in the competition, and in 10 fewer appearances than the previous record holder Harry Kane.

Spurs striker Kane reached such feat after 24 matches while Italian legend Allessandro Del Piero reached the 20 goal mark in 26 games.

Also on the list of world's youth team is Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati who is already performing wonders in the La Liga despite his young age of 18.

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden who has been in blistering form for over a year also made the cut - as he has also become an important member of the Three Lions of England squad.

Frenchman Wesley Fofana who plays for Premier League side Leicester City also made the list and he is already getting attention from Europe's biggest clubs.

Milan's young playmaker Sandro Tonali joins Foden in midfield, while Rennes ace Eduardo Camavinga - already a full France international at age 18 - deservedly takes the third slot.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that amid speculation that Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland could potentially move to the La Liga, reports have it that the player’s father and agent have arrived Spain.

The 20-year-old is now the most sought-after striker across the European continent following his 49 goals and several assists since arriving from RB Salzburg.

Premier League clubs Manchester United, Manchester City as well as Chelsea are chasing the player who has been tipped to become a great player in future.
