Lionel Messi joined his Barcelona team-mates in training on Monday, September 7 after weeks of intense battle, but will not commit his long-term future at the club until a new president is announced.
After agreeing to carry on with the club, the legend reportedly met with the new Barcelona manager Ronaldo Koeman who asked for his full co-operation.
Messi’s official contract will lapse at the end of the incoming season, but it is believed that the Argentine will not make a hasty decision regarding his future until the club’s next president is announced.

Real Madrid returned from the coronavirus lockdown to overhaul Barcelona for the La Liga title, then Bayern Munich humiliated Messi and Co 8-2 in the Champions League quarter-finals last month and them Barcelona failed to win any silverware at the last campaign.
The 33-year-old had last month tendered his transfer request at the club as he hoped to leave, amid reports that he already agreed personal terms with Premier League club Manchester City.
He sought to leave the club for free, but the club, backed by La Liga claim there exists a clause in his contract which forced the player to renounce his decision.
The Argentine was seen driving into the Camp Nou training ground earlier and later trained alone - as it would be for a few days as mandated by coronavirus protocols after he failed to undergo tests last week.
