Governor Fubara Speaks For the First Time After His Reinstatement, Tells Nigerians His Next Steps

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to serving the people of the state, assuring residents that his government remains committed to acting in their best interest.

The Governor gave the assurance on Friday shortly after arriving at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital. His return was marked by a warm reception earlier in the day at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, located in Ilwerre Local Government Area.

Addressing the crowd, Fubara acknowledged the overwhelming turnout of residents who came out to welcome him, describing the gesture as deeply humbling.

“I know everyone wants to hear something from me. In fact, you expected it when I landed at the Airport,” he stated, expressing gratitude for the show of support.

Rivers state governor humbled by airport reception

Governor Fubara described the reception as a powerful display of love, confidence, and solidarity between the people and his administration.

“Let me first of all appreciate the wonderful people of Rivers State. I’m really humbled by what I saw at the Airport. I was briefed on some photographs of what happened here yesterday. That reception really humbled me,” he said.

He further emphasised the significance of the gathering, noting that it went beyond mere celebration.

“It showed love, confidence and solidarity. I want to say that it is not just the celebration, the massive reception by the number of people who came out to celebrate, but the display and reaffirmation of the bond between this government and the people that we are serving.”

In his closing remarks, Fubara pledged to continue delivering on the promises that have earned his administration the trust and affection of the people.

“I want to assure you that we will by the grace of God, continue to do those things that has made you people love us. I want to appreciate everyone and to say that we love you but God love you more.”

Government positions held by Fubara

Legit.ng earlier reported that Siminalayi Fubara, the current Governor of Rivers State, rose through the ranks of the civil service over an 18-year career marked by steady progression and academic distinction.

His journey, which began in the classroom, culminated in his appointment as the state’s Accountant General before assuming the governorship.Fubara’s public service career officially commenced in 2003 when he was appointed as a classroom teacher by the Rivers State Post-Primary Schools Board.
