Man Shares Message Charlie Kirk Sent To Him Just One Day Before He Was Murdered

A man has shared the message Charlie Kirk sent to him just a day before he was shot and killed at Utah Valley University.
American lawyer who doubles as a CNN political analyst, Van Jones, said Kirk sent him a DM on X.

According to Jones, he was surprised when he got the message because he and Kirk mostly never agreed on any topic.
Jones said Kirk sent him the message asking him to come to his podcast so they can iron out their disagreements through dialogue.
He said:
"The day before he was horrifically murdered, Charlie Kirk sent me a direct message on X."
He said Kirk was always seeking dialogue and ways to engage with those who disagreed with him.
Kirk had said in the message:
“Hey, Van, I mean it, I’d love to have you on my show to have a respectful conversation about crime and race. I would be a gentleman as I know you would be as well. We can disagree about the issues agreeably.”
Writing on CNN, Jones said he could even get a chance to reply to the message before Kirk was murdered.
His words:
"Unfortunately, before I could even respond, Charlie Kirk was killed — seemingly assassinated for the words he’s spoken, though the killer’s exact motives are still being investigated. I’ve taken issue with many of those words — sometimes strongly — but never his right to speak them. Never his right to express those views and then go home to his family. That is a sacred American value."
