President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, ahead of the Africa-France Summit scheduled to hold between Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, as a viral video circulating on social media confirms his arrival and reception.

The development was first shared online by presidential media aide Daddy D.O (@DOlusegun), who disclosed that the Nigerian leader travelled into Kenya for the high-level diplomatic engagement.

Tinubu arrives in Nairobi for diplomatic engagement

According to the post, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu landed in Nairobi ahead of the continental summit aimed at strengthening relations between African nations and France.

It stated:

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrives in Nairobi ahead of the Africa-France Summit scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12.”

Upon arrival, the Nigerian leader was received by senior Kenyan government officials led by Musalia Mudavadi, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

Also part of the reception team were Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, alongside the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Amb. Isaac Parashina.

Summit to strengthen Africa-France cooperation

The Africa-France Summit is expected to provide a platform for discussions on economic cooperation, security collaboration, and broader diplomatic relations between African countries and France.

Officials say Nigeria’s participation underscores its continued commitment to regional partnerships and multilateral engagement aimed at advancing development across the continent.

The Nigerian presidency has maintained that the country’s presence at the summit reflects its strategic foreign policy direction, focused on strengthening alliances within Africa while engaging global partners on shared interests.

Tinubu makes new appointments

Previously, Legit.ng reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mrs Arinola Ogbara-Banjoko as a non-executive director on the board of the Nigeria Commodity Exchange.

Her appointment was announced in a statement issued on Thursday, May 7, by the special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
