Ikorodu did Valentine’s Day differently this year. Instead of the usual quiet plans, many residents gathered at the Ferry Terminal where music, laughter and celebration filled the space as Goldberg brought its Takeover Party to town.

Goldberg’s Takeover Party has built a reputation for showing up where people already know how to have a good time. This Valentine’s edition leaned into that spirit while keeping the brand’s Gold Standard promise front and centre. The mood stayed true to what Goldberg calls Our Beat, Our Gold, with music, connection and shared moments driving the night.

Couples got their spotlight as the event unfolded. Actor Odunlade, alongside host Hardvantage, moved through the crowd handing out gold themed flowers and inviting pairs to the dance floor. There was laughter, some playful shyness and plenty of cheering. One couple eventually walked away with a large bouquet and N50,000 cash prize after winning over the audience with their chemistry.

Then came the DJ battle which many people had been waiting for. Both contestants, DJ Enizy Eni and DJ Dablat, are some favourites in Ikorodu with loyal supporters who showed up ready to back them. The stakes were clear from the start, with N2 million for first place and N1 million for second.

The battle played out in rounds. First, each DJ handled the crowd solo, setting their tone. Next, hypemen joined in, raising the tempo and crowd interaction. For the final stretch, Goldberg guest DJ, YK Mule stepped in to guide the session as both DJs pushed hard for the win. By the end, DJ Dablat clinched first place, earning the N2 million prize, while DJ Enizy Eni took home N1 million.

Later in the night, Segun Johnson brought a different kind of energy to the stage, blending live band elements with crowd favourites and keeping the momentum high.

Qdot closed the night with a performance that kept people on their feet well past schedule. It was loud, celebratory and exactly the kind of send-off the audience seemed to want.

For Goldberg, the Ikorodu Valentine Takeover was about the connection to/with the people. Familiar faces, local talent, couples celebrating together and a brand comfortable enough to let the community shape the experience all came together. That mix of music, people and unmistakable Gold Standard energy is what made the night memorable. Judging by the turnout and the atmosphere, Ikorodu embraced the Goldberg Takeover fully.
