For hundreds of thousands of young Nigerians, learning looked a little different this year. Classrooms became science labs, curiosity turned into discovery, and lessons on nourishment came alive through hands-on, engaging experiments that inspired excitement and confidence. What began as a school tour has grown into a nationwide movement, with the Maltina Nourishment Tour reaching more than 300,000 young minds across over 1,000 schools, surpassing its first-year target of 250,000 on the journey to 1 million students in four years.

Since its first stop at Government Senior College, Agege, Lagos, on February 9, 2026, the tour has travelled across the country, bringing engaging STEM learning, interactive nutrition education and memorable classroom experiences directly to students. From Greensprings School and De Titus School in Lagos to United Missionary Comprehensive College, Molete, Ibadan; Maverick College; Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuochita, Port Harcourt; Governor's College, Kano; Government Science Technical College, Area 3, Garki, Abuja, young minds have explored science through exciting experiments, discovered the importance of vitamins and minerals, and experienced learning in ways that spark imagination and inspire curiosity.
For many students, the experience has transformed the way they think about science, turning classroom concepts into exciting, hands-on discoveries that feel relevant to their future.
"The field I am going for is a science-related one," shared one participating student from Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuochita, Port Harcourt. "So having the Maltina Nourishment Tour come to my school was really exciting. Being able to see and participate in science experiments made learning feel real and has encouraged me to stay committed to my dream"
Similarly, a student from Governor's College, Kano, described the experience as one that deepened her passion for science. "As a science student, Chemistry is my favourite subject,” she mentioned, “Seeing science come alive through practical demonstrations made learning even more enjoyable and inspiring."

Teachers across participating schools also observed the immediate impact of the initiative, highlighting how practical learning sparked greater enthusiasm, participation, and understanding among students.
A teacher from Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuochita, Port Harcourt, noted: "Practical learning helps students connect with what they are taught in the classroom. When they can see, touch, and experience science for themselves, they become more engaged, ask more questions, and retain what they've learned. The excitement we've seen today shows how powerful experiential learning can be."
Beyond the classrooms, the Maltina Nourishment Tour has become a nationwide platform for inspiring curiosity while promoting healthy living. Through practical demonstrations and interactive lessons, students have explored the role of vitamins and minerals, understood the importance of proper nourishment, and discovered how science shapes the world around them.
The success of the tour has been driven by a blend of engaging classroom experiences, practical science demonstrations, and partnerships with organisations such as STEM Africa, as well as appearances by Maltina's brand ambassadors.[2] Together, these experiences have helped make science more accessible while encouraging children to make healthier choices in fun, memorable ways.

The success of this Nourishment Tour is a testament to what happens when you build meaningful connections with schools and communities while helping students understand the link between nourishment and learning."
"It was amazing to return to my almamater with Maltina and get another chance to go back to where it all began,” Maltina Brand Ambassador, Tomike Adeoye, also added. “The success of this Nourishment Tour shows what's possible when happiness and nourishment come together.
