Minna, Niger state - The National Examinations Council (NECO) on Wednesday, September 17, released the 2025 Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE) results.

The results are that of the 2025 SSCE internal examination written by students in secondary schools across the country.

Legit.ng earlier reported that NECO recorded a significant drop in examination malpractice cases, with a 61.58% reduction compared to the previous year.

The 2025 SSCE internal examination was conducted from Monday, June 16, to Friday, July 25, 2025.

It is now time for studnets and candidates to check their results which will determine their journey into tertiary institutions.

As reported by Vanguard, candidates need to purchase a token to access their results.

2025 NECO results: How Purchase Token

  • Candidates are to visit the official NECO Results portal.
  • They are to create an account using their name, email, and password.
  • Log in to their dashboard and click on “Purchase Token.”

Complete payment via the available options. The token will then appear under the “My Tokens” section of your account.

How to check NECO 2025 result online

After purchasing the token, NECO candidates can now check their results by following these steps below:

  • Visit the NECO Results portal and click on “Check Result.”
  • Enter your token, exam registration number, exam year, and exam type (SSCE Internal).
  • Click “Check My Result” to view and print your result.

NECO: Schools, states involved in examination malpractice

Recall that NECO announced the number of schools in 13 states that were implicated in whole-school cheating during the 2025 SSCE.

NECO disclosed that nine supervisors have been recommended for blacklisting over aiding malpractice, poor conduct, and indiscipline.

Despite infractions, NECO released results in record time, with over 60% of candidates earning five Credits, including Maths and English.

NECO reduces English language exam questions

In a previous story, Legit.ng reported that the National Examinations Council (NECO) announced a plan to streamline the English language exam in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).

The examination body said it would slash questions in the English Language Paper III from 100 to 80 from 2026 SSCE Internal exams.

The State Coordinator for Osun State, Sunday K. Bolaji, disclosed the six sections in the new paper structure.
